EAST DALLAS VETERINARY CLINIC ADOPTEES

The employees at East Dallas Veterinary Clinic occasionally find or
take in animals in need of homes. Please check back here from time to time for information on new adoptees.

RESCUE ORGANIZATIONS

East Dallas Veterinary Clinic and its staff is pleased to have a working relationship with several rescue organizations in the DFW area. We work closely with each of the rescue groups to ensure the proper health of their available pets. Please refer to the information below if you are interested in adopting, fostering, or helping any of the organizations that we currently work with. (East Dallas Veterinary Clinic is not responsible for any of the selection criteria and each rescue organization has their own guidelines and processes)

Breed Rescue Groups (Dogs)

For those folks who are interested in a specific breed of dog, most breeds have a rescue group. These groups take animals picked up by the various Animal Control groups around the Metroplex as well as owner give-ups (many times due to age, relocation, financial difficulties).

The benefit of working with a breed-specific rescue group is their interest in placing the right dog in the right home. The dogs have already been checked out by a veterinarian, are healthy or health problems have been identified and are being treated.

Many rescue groups are in need of foster homes, so if you are not sure you are ready for a permanent placement or simply want to help out, these rescue groups would be glad to hear from you.

DFW Dachshund Rescue

DFW Dachshund Rescue Foundation, Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit rescue organization, based in Colleyville, TX. We rescue purebred dachshunds from area shelters, and we also take owner surrenders when space allows. We focus primarily on dogs 6 years of age and younger. Dogs are fully vetted before leaving the rescue program; and we work carefully to get the right home for the dog; and the right dog for the home. Visit our website to get more information: www.dfwdachshund.petfinder.com.

Westie Rescue of North Texas (WRNT)

Westie Rescue of North Texas exists solely to rescue and rehabilitate abused, abandoned, neglected, homeless and surrendered West Highland White Terriers. Our charges are provided with the attention, care and medical treatment necessary, including spaying/neutering, until a permanent home can be found. Through the commitment of our volunteers, WRNT also focuses on education of the public regarding puppy mills and responsible dog ownership, including spaying/neutering, training and humane care.
